Thus, the long-term health is used again and again. What does that mean ? What does this mean for you? There are many variations of this definition and function of the source from which you speak. Some say that health is the prevention of disease. Some say it is the management of the disease, such as diabetes or high cholesterol. Some would say that access to a doctor or supplier.
Health , by definition , is a state of being free from illness or injury .
Heath cares as defined in Webster's dictionary says " the preservation of health through the prevention and treatment of disease by trained and licensed professionals . "
In the pursuit of health - the state of being free from injury or illness , we think it should be considered a goal. This objective reality of health is a moving target. Our bodies are bombarded daily against viruses, bacteria, peer pressure, psychological pressure , to name a few . With so many forces working to prevent health, we want to maximize our internal resources to remain free of injury and illness . Healthy for us is to find a balance. If you look at the human landscape , there are three main components that make us - body and mind. If one of these three basic elements are overwhelming either missing, then the achievement of health remain short. Take an example -
Ronnie is an exercise machine . Work 5-6 times per week , eat a very clean unprocessed diet , drink plenty of water , getting enough sleep and try to feel refreshed . Most of us in the first impression would be that person as a person "healthy" . However, at home, Ronnie had difficulty communicating with his wife, who feels that exerts too much and alienate family. The biggest challenge Ronnie at home, goes to his safety zone of the gym to relieve stress. This cycle continues to build. Stress in the house is built . Ronnie is physically fit , but mentally exhausted . This example is really free from diseases and injuries that we have to consider all aspects to be truly healthy.
We believe that the pursuit of health ( balance of body and mind ) is based on the elements of well-being - health , lifestyle , and education . We believe that the integration of these components in your life, then you can really get "health."
So what are the health care then? Doctor for advice ? Are you seeing a counselor to discuss the stressors of life? Do you read books and fashion items related life ? Answer - all of the above . We need to look at health care in a different perspective. Many people I see in the desktop view of health care as doctor visits . These views are based on a recent illness or injury. Most people try to get advice on how they can feel better. I would say that the treatment of an injury or illness is not health care . This is what I call the patient carefully. Patient care is only part of the reason I chose medicine as a profession, to help those who are sick or injured . It seems that for most people equate health care . What time between diseases and injuries? What resources and plans that people do to prevent illness or injury . In the business world , there is a notion of being proactive rather than reactive . Be the person who starts the trend, not follow it. That's my goal for the patients I see .
I have patients who suffer from diabetes , hypertension and high cholesterol , which for various reasons are medications to help control these diseases. I check there numbers on a quarterly basis and many have attained the status of a number of "controlled" . My patients feel better , no symptoms of their disease process , and are happy that the blood reflects their hard work. Managed health care , though? In my opinion, NO.
Beyond recipes that help keep the disease, we still have to adjust the lifestyle and education to help these patients. Lifestyle are so important - the type of nutrition take us exercise our body, keeping the mind fresh , learn effective techniques for reducing stress are all essential . Education is neglected element in many offices . I feel doctors are mainly to blame here . We all try to give advice and expect our patients are listening . The question is whether they remember the advice given. Our scores of practice in detail and in the non- medical jargon , plans for each patient. Our hope is that the patient actually read what we write and maintain summarized as entries cookbook. Over time , we expect to book your ticket gives them a knowledge base to make informed decisions .
So what is health? It is the search for the maintenance of a disease or injury without life by incorporating a balance between body , mind, by the way of life and education.
